HOLY PLACE HARIDWAR
Haridwar is one of the most beautiful places in India. Haridwar was situated in Uttarakhand state. Haridwar was the district of the Uttarakhand and having the population more than 175,010.
Haridwar is the city which was famous not only for tourism but it was the heaven for the pilgrims. In every year thousands of pilgrims visited Haridwar. In India from all states many of the peoples came here for the Dharshan of their God and devotes there self in front of them.
The river Ganga flows through the Haridwar. The Haridwar in ancient time was known as "Gangadwara". The Haridwar is one of the cities all over the India was regarded as one of the holiest place to Hindus. According to the ancient theory when the "Samundramanthan" was held between the Devta's and the Raksha's the amrit was originated in that manthan. When the amrit was carried by the bird Garuda accidently the four drops of amrit fell down on the four different places. The four different places in India named as Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nasik. These are the four places which play an important role in Hindus life.
The Haridwar is famous for the Kumbha mela which was held there after every 12 year. The three respective places that are Allahabad, Ujjain, and Nasik in these places we also celebrate the mela but at these place this mela were repeated after 3 year. In Haridwar many tourist and pilgrim mostly visit for attending the Kumbha mela in Haridwar and the pilgrims came here they usually came here to get bath in the river Ganga because according to the Hindus text those people have bath in river Ganga then their sins also get washed there. This mela is one of the biggest mela in all over India.
When the Garuda bird crossing through the Haridwar accidently the drops fell down in Haridwar and that drops was fell in the place named as Har-ki-pauri. The exact place where that drops was fell that is the Brahma kund which was present in Har-Ki-pauri Haridwar. That is why the Har-ki-pauri is known as the sacred Ghat in Haridwar.
Haridwar is also named having a specific meaning the word is made by combining two words "Hari" it means God and "Dwar" it means the Gate the word Haridwar means Gateway to God. Haridwar is the place where the Char Dham Yatra was started. The pilgrims who came there to start their Char Dham Yatra first get bath in the river Ganga and after doing all the religious activities they starts their yatra.
The Haridwar is also known as the home of lord Parvati. Lord Parvati was the wife of lord Shiva. The name of Parvati father was Daksha. It also meant that the lord Shiva was meeting with Mata Parvati in Haridwar. At the ancient time the Haridwar is known as Gangadwar. After some time the Gangadwara was named as Haridwar.
