As the name itself states that MAHARASHTRA(The Great Nation) there is no need of explaining it much,but still one thing which beholds is,the land which is known for its glory and rich heritage.

Maharashtra is well connected all across the state by following road,rail,&air means.The total land area occupied is around 308 000,sq km among the nation,Most of the west part is covered all with the sea cliffs of arabian sea which is mainly called as Konkan,which leads large tourists attraction.we call india as an diversed country but we can't exclude maharashtra out of it because the state has vast geographical features diversed into rivers,plateau's& forests.The recent population of maharashtra noted by census of india 110,878,627.
There are mountains on the Western Ghats which run parallel to the coast of the state, leaving a narrow strip known as the Konkan between the Arabian Sea and the interior plateau. There is a series of small ports along the coast in addition to Mumbai.
Beyond the Western Ghats is a vast plateau drained by the Tapi, Godavari, Bhima, Krishna, Wardha, and Vainganga
The great Tapi trough, a fertile belt where cotton is cultivated, is there.

Mumbai is the capital of maharashtra state and it also contributes its effort for bieng Economic capital and cinematic hub of India.
The state has 35 districts which are well classified into six divisions which constitute the revenue earning divisions of Maharashtra the main six divisions are Konkan,Western maharashtra,Marathwada,North maharashtra,& Vidharba which is classified differently in two divisions Nagpur& Amravati
Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Solapur, Nagpur, Auranghabad and Thane are some of the important cities in the state,which boasts for industrial devlopment.
Maharashtra is generally an agricultural state which also has most important industries like metal, wine, jewellery, engineering and steel and iron industry.

The heaviest rainfall recorded ever is along the coastal area, where it averages 80 to 120,(203-305 cm)in a year. The climate in general is tropical.
In the plateau areas, only 25 to 80 in,(64-203 cm) of rain fall annually, creating a semiarid climatic zone.
Maharashtra state is governed by a chief minister and cabinet responsible to a bicameral legislature with one elected house and by a governor appointed by the president of India.

The favourite cusine or food consumed overhere is "bajri chi bhakri"(roti) and a blend of green chilli's called "techa" which really has robust taste the purnachi poli(sweet roti) is also famous throught india
