2. You can board a train from major cities in India to Mumbai and take a train from Mumbai to Nagpur railway station. From the station you can hire a taxi to the VCA stadium. The distance is about 26kms. (about half-hour drive).

The VCA stadium, Maharashtra can seat 45,000 spectators. Both the northern and southern side pavilions are enclosed in thick glass. Spectators can enter and exit through one of 11 gates. 35 cameras form part of the video surveillance system at the VCA stadium. The entire stadium is well lit with massive floodlights. The VCA stadium also has a cricket academy to train budding cricketers.
During major international matches, a special air-conditioned box with 15 seats is available for a premium price. There is a separate media box with state-of-the-art facilities for journalists. The 200-seater box has its own news center with Wi-fi facility and a segragated area for cricket team captains to speak to the media at post-match sessions.
Playing teams have large air-conditioned dressing rooms and access to a modern gym. The VCA stadium also has its own Club House with 24 furnished rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, a library, and courts for tennis, badminton and squash.

As for the playing pitch, it is said that the VCA stadium pitch has an unusual aspect: instead of the traditional 15-inch brick layer, it has a 30-inch double brick layer. It was on this pitch that Andy Flower entered the record books for scoring the highest at this stadium: 232 runs and none other than Sachin Tendulkar has amassed the most runs here: 679 runs to be precise! Bowlers, too, have had their lucky days, with Anil Kumble credited with taking the most number of wickets on this pitch (20 wickets) and Maninder Singh having the best bowling figures of 7 wickets for 51 runs.
