Amba Ghat is not so known hill station in Maharashtra. Bird watching, Jungle Safari, Tea garden are few attractions for visiting it. Pavan Khind is also a destination which is very near from Amba Ghat.

Amba Ghat is a hill station which is very rarely included in the list of hill stations in Maharashtra, but it's a sure visit once. Amba Ghat lies 65-70 kms from Kolhapur on the Kolhapur - Ratnagiri Highway surround by Rainforests and Bison Wildlife Sanctuary.Main Attraction of Amba Ghat
Amba Ghat a treat for bird watchers & nature lovers. The resorts there offer Jungle safari , visit to Emu farm & tea garden & also visit to Pavan Khind . One can also enjoy morning walk in the village near the resort as we did, and it was a experience to remember- typical village houses, Kkacha road, a small school, castles & hens roaming around. Pavan Khind is the same historic gorge Baji Prabhu trapped the chasing Mughal army. It's a must visit place for all as it again remind us of our great history. You will also get to see a very small pond on the way to Pavan Khind from Amba Ghat. Food
Food there does not have many exciting options as it is not very commercialized so I would suggest to have food in the resort were you have made your stay arrangements.Accommodation
There are some good resorts which provide nice accommodation & site visit at reasonable rates. They also provide tents & born fire if you really want to stay the jungle way.
My experience of Amba Ghat was very relaxing compared with any other hill station in Maharashtra as it's a very simple & less commercialized.Resort options
