Rugged Sahyadri Adventure Race event:
The mountains around Kolhapur City are rugged with different types of beautiful green vegetation and the location is spectacular for the event like bicycle racing competition. The numbers of picturesque locations around Kolhapur city are plenty in number and the adventure event like this would be an absolute treat for the bicycle enthusiast and amateur cyclists. The Rugged Sahyadri Adventure Race is a team event and the contestants will be riding and trekking their bicycles through dangerous mountain uphill's and down hills.
The cyclists will also travel through the back roads of villages, forest like vegetation, muddy ways and it will be a thrilling experience in monsoon season.
The Rugged Sahyadri Adventure Race is a Team event. In each team there will be only two members. To include the female participation in this race event it is necessary that a girl participating in team must have two male contestants with them. 
Hence, the mixed group will consists of only one female and two male contestants and it will be called a mixed group team at the race event. The race event is of 2 days. There are four types of categories as follows:
i) School Category: In this category kid whose age is between 14 to 16 years can participate and it includes trekking and bicycle race as well. The total distance is of 35 KM and they can have only boy's team or a mixed team as well.
It is a one day racing event.
Participation fee is Rs. 500 per team.
ii) Amateur Category: In this category contestants age needs to be above 16 years and race event includes cycling and trekking. The total distance is of 50 KM and they can have only boy's team or a mixed team as well.
It is a one day racing event.
Participation fee is Rs. 600 per team.
iii) College Category: In this category contestants age needs to be above 16 years and race event includes cycling and trekking. The total distance is of 100 KM and they can have only boy's team or a mixed team as well.
It is a two days racing event.
Participation fee is Rs. 1000 per team.
iv) Open Category: In this category contestants age needs to be above 16 years and race event includes cycling and trekking. The total distance is of 100 KM and they can have only boy's team or a mixed team as well.
It is a two days racing event.
Participation fee is Rs. 1500 per team.
The basic accommodation in a Government School near Khotwadi village will be provided for the contestants participating for two days racing event. As the school category and amateur category cyclist racing event is only of one day they will not be allowed any accommodation facility. How to participate in bicycle competition :
The documents that are necessary to participate in this Rugged Sahyadri Adventure Race are as follows:
i) Age proof documents in original and with Xerox copy of it.
ii) Photographs: Passport size 2 numbers.
iii) The participation fees which should be in the form of DD/Check in favor of "Kolhapur Adventure Sports Association" Payable at Kolhapur.

Registrations to be done by: 1st July, 2012 to 20th August, 2012.
Race Day: 1st September, 2012 and 2nd September, 2012.
Prize Distribution: 2nd September, 2012 for both events.
