Rajarshi Shahu Stadium, Kolhapur Will Host Women'S Football Match Between India & Netherlands
The following article informs you about a first ever International Football match between women's team of India and Netherlands. The Netherlands country is also known by the name as Holland. The event is a friendly match between the two teams and Kolhapur City is ready to welcome both the teams who will play against each other on 17th of January 2013 and 20th January 2013.
India Vs Holland - Women's Football Friendly Match :
The Western India Football Association (WIFA) declared that Women's Football team of India and Holland will play against each other in a friendly match that will be held in Kolhapur city. The Patron in Chief – Chhatrapati Maloji Raje said that there will be special arrangements for women spectators and entry for the match will be free for every audience entering the stadium. Chhatrapati Maloji Raje said that the efforts were taken by Major General Shahaji Maharaja and Meghnaath Nageshkar way back in 1940 to establish the "Kolhapur Sports Association (KSA)". Right now the association is doing a great job in organizing and conducting various events. With the help of KSA, today we see many young talents representing at Zillah level, State Level and National level.
In the state of Maharashtra, Kolhapur city is known for its craziest football fans and also there are many numbers of football player and private Football Teams within the Kolhapur city. Likewise city of Mumbai leads in the number of fans for football and private football teams and Kolhapur city stands on number two position after it. Due to the support of people for the game of football in Kolhapur city, now a days the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is also concentrating on the various aspects of the game in Maharashtra state. The India Vs Holland Women's Football Match is being conducted on 17th January 2013 in collaboration of WIFA and AIFF and it is called as club linking. The Holland Women's football team will be playing two matches in India. One of the match will be played at Rajarshi Shahu Stadium of Kolhapur and the other match will be played at Cooperage Ground in Navi Mumbai o 20th of January 2013.Rajarshi Shahu National Level Football Stadium of Kolhapur :

The National Level Stadium committee members decided to name the stadium in due respect to Maharaja of the city, "Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaja". The Rajarshi Shahu Stadium of Kolhapur was built in 1960 for wrestling purpose at first and then later on it was being used to conduct Football matches. The stadium has a space for audience totaling around 10,000 at a time. The most interesting feature of this ground is that it has a two storey seating arrangement for the spectators. The stadium is used for conducting league football matches between various football teams of Kolhapur city. The "Football Mahasangram" is a League Championship match which is being played on a yearly basis on the Rajarshi Shahu Stadium of Kolhapur.
Apart from this the National Level Football matches are also being held on this ground. On 17th January 2013 it will be the first time that an International Level Football match event between Women's Team of India and Holland will be held on Rajarshi Shahu Football Stadium of Kolhapur city. Special arrangements are being made so that the friendly match between the two teams entertains the football fans of the city. Women's Football World Cup 2015:
The women's football team of India did not enter into FIFA Women's Football World Cup since from 1991. The Women's Football World Cup Tournament is held once in 4 years and Indian team is trying very hard to be in the list of Qualified Teams for Women's Football World Cup 2015. Women's Football World Cup 2015 will be hosted in the country of Canada. The match between India and Netherlands on 17th January 2013 will help the Indian Women's Team to get a tough of International Level Football match on the Rajarshi Shahu Stadium of Kolhapur.
