Kanden is a beautiful love story which is going to be an entertainment for young audience. This is the first romantic movie of the filmmaker Mugil. Shanthanu, son of K. Bhagyaraj plays the lead role in the film. He has a chocolate boy appearance and suits well for the role.
Vasanth (Shanthanu), the hero of the film Kanden, is an IT graduate and works in a leading MNC. The hero's grandfather Vijayakumar arranges marriage for his grandson with his friend's daughter. Shanthanu wants to get rid of this so he tells a lie that he loves a girl in Chennai. Vijaykumar is shocked hearing this and he accepts his grandson's love and asks him to convince the girls parents within 1 month of time.
The story is like any other normal story Vasanth meets Narmatha (Rashmi Gautham), the heroine of the film Kanden and falls in love at the first sight. Narmatha's is the daughter of Ashish Vidyarthi who plays the role of City Police Commissioner.
Namratha likes to do social work and she helps blind people. Inorder to get her love Vasanth acts like a blind. Both of them become friends and as of any other story both of them fall in love. Ashish Vidyarthi opposes his daughter's love so Vasanth and Narmatha plan to get married in a register office. At this point Narmatha comes to know that Vasanth is not blind.
