Sathya Raj (Lingam) is a good rowdy in Madurai. He was not known to the public. Rathnam (Suman) is his enemy and wants to kill him. Shantanu Baghyaraj (Gopal) works in a rice mill who is a kind hearted orphan. Many girls wander around Gopal to get him married but Gopal falls in love with Megha (Sana Khan) at first sight. Once Megha had lost her diary that contains all information about her. This diary comes in the hands of Gopal and with these information from the dairy Gopal tries to love Megha.
Though Sathya Raj had all the facilities he longed for a happy family like his friend and decides to adopt a son. Sathya Raj tries to find a right boy as his son from a juvenile interview and could not succeed in the selection process. Sathya Raj happens meet Gopal a kind hearted young man who saves a boy from suicide attempt. Sathya Raj decides to adopt him. One incident makes Gopal to misunderstand about Sathya Raj and from than Sathya Raj calls himself as Kannayiram. Their relationship grows day by day and come to the level like father and son.
The problem for Gopal arises when Megha's 'murai maaman' wants to punish Gopal joins in hand with Rathanam who is enemy to Sathya Raj. The police commissioner supports Sathya Raj when the police wants to make encounter on Sathya Raj. In the final gang war Sathya Raj and his boys get killed. Gopal gets the Sathya Raj's wealth and joins in hands with his lover.
