Former Minister S.Karuppaswamy won the election conducted last year on behalf of AIADMK party for sankarankoil constitution and due to his death on October 22nd 2011 the election commission is now in a position to conduct a by election to elect the respective winners of different parties in respective constitution. According to the news it says that the final list of candidates for the election will be announced only on march 3rd 2012 but mean while the election commission has given just a unit of time for various political parties to start with their campaigning. The current ruling party AIADMK has even announced its candidate for the respective constituency last month and as the people expect a good result towards the election the ruling party has formed a group of 34 panel members which even includes many cabinet ministers who are put up in a full swing towards their election campaigning.

The election commission said strict rules of instruction will be followed during the election and the election commission has decided to use electronic voting machine towards its polling and the electrol photo id card will act as a main document proof with few additional document proof of identification to be announced by the respective department. According to the latest news it is said that all 242 polling booth has been decided to be provided with tight security measures to avoid unnecessary situation towards it polling. All the polling booth will be recorded via video camera and all the booth will be connected with an Internet to update and monitor the situation to Chennai election commission office and tiruennveli collector office. If the booth could not be provided with Internet facility then they have decided to record the polling via camera and copy in cd and sent it to respective office.
Moreover the election commission has also decided to record the nomination by videos. In order to avoid the transaction of money to voters a total of 10 flying scoud has been put into the investigation wok 24 hours round the clock. As 12 places which is to undergo election comes under tutcorin district the election commission has decided to follow the election rules with several constraints in district like tutocorin and nellai and the election commission said there should be no sticking of posters for respective parties in the walls.
