Oru Kal Oru Kannadi would be full length comedy flick and the movie is being directed by Rajesh who become a popular director through his previous venture of success from the movie Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran. This time Udhayanidhi Stalin has taken up anew avatar as a hero for the film and Haniska acts as his opposite on screen pair. As usual the director Rajesh has used Santhanam for the whole comedy track for the movie and this time by joining hands with Udhayanidhi the comedian would bring him with another mile stone for his comedy gallata into the minds of all set of audiences. The movie has totally 5 songs and it is being composed by Harris Jeyaraj who has come out with his own style of composition and for the first time the director of the film has teamed up with Harris Jeyaraj and Sony Music has grabbed the music rights. According to previous News received from the press the movie Oru Kaaal Oru Kannadi would have been given as a release for Diwali Race last year under the banner of Red Giant Movies. But the hero of the debut film says that previously Dhyanidhi Aalagiri decided to release the movie under his banner Studio Green but due to several personal issues the distributor rights for the movie has been sold to Sun Pictures and Udhayanidhi says Sun TV has only the satellite rights but the rest of the functionality lies with him and so he decided to release the movie under his own banner Red Giant Movies.
The shots for the movie has been carried out at various locations in Chennai, Mumbai and the movie shoot is almost nearing completion except with few sequence and songs that are to shot at abroad which are to be wrapped up. It is also noted that a couple of songs had its shooting at Jordan.

Udhayanidhi Stalin Oru Kaal Oru Kannadi movie audio launch event was launched in Chennai on 5/2/2012 at Sathyam Cinemas. The audio launch function was launched in a good manner with invite of several biggies from Tamil film industry and some of the notable personalities over the event would be Jeeva, Jayam Ravi, Vishnu, Sibiraj, Vettri Maran, K.S. Ravikumar, Perarasu and many more. Two well known popular siblings of Tamil film industry Surya and Karthi acted as the main guests for the events in releasing the audio and trailers of the movie. The movie has Udhayanidhi, Haniska, Santhanam in lead role and the movie would be a full length romantic comedy entertainer and the director feels this movie will appeal to all set of audiences with a good opening in wide number of screens across Tamil Nadu on its day of release. Udhayindhi the hero portrays the role as an unemployed youth with his name as Saravanan who comes from a middle class family and just passed out of the college who is looking for a job and Santhanam role would be named as Partha a friend of hero and as usual from the flicks of the director we would be able to witness a good comedy of chemistry between these two peoples.
