Development of Kamal Hassan's tamil movie Viswaroopam
The development of the film started as soon as the release of Manmadhan Ambu. Selvaraghavan was to direct the film but the sources say that since Selva was busy with his brother Dhanush's film the direction was taken up from Selvaraghavan and Kamal Hassan himself has decided to direct. The film was shot in the beautiful locations of USA, Jordan and Canada. Some shots also were made in Mumbai and Chennai. There was a lot of confusion in choosing the lead female role. Many of the popular actresses were approached like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Sameera Reddy and Anushka Shetty. Vishwaroopam is a Tamil spy thriller movie which will be definitely loved by the tamil audience. The story of the film is based on the English thriller movie Hannibal. Kamal plays the role of a Kathak dancer. One of the famous Kathak dancer Birju Maharaj has trained up Kamal Hassan. The biggest highlight of Vishwaroopam is the dance by 50 Kathak dancers for a musical track.

Initially Selvaraghavan selected Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music director but later when Kamal was supposed to direct he changed and decided for a musical trio by Shankar Mahadevan, Eshaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa.
