Tamil actress Namitha is one of the well-known and popular South Indian Actress who has acted in a number of tamil films. She has got a large number of fans and is known for her glamour. Namitha was born in Surat in 1977. She is the only daughter to her parents though she is a punjabi by birth she got recognition in the South Indian film industry. All the fame goes to the Malayalam film director Siddhique who introduced Namitha to the film industry. She has received the Miss Surat award and has participated in Miss India pageant. Namitha started her career as a heroine in the Telugu movie Sontham opposite to Aryan Rajesh. Her screen name was first Bhairavi which she changed later. After her Telugu film she started acting in Tamil films and her first film was Hai. Namitha became popular among the Tamil audience after acting in the film Engal Anna with Vijayakanth.
