About Birla Temple of Kolkata
Birla Temple of Kolkata is one of the biggest Hindu temple of West Bengal. This Birla Temple of Kolkata is located at Ballygunge of Kolkata. This temple was built by the famous industrialist Birla Pariwar in the year 1970 but the temple was completed in the year 1996. The opening time of the temple is 5.30 AM in the morning and closes at 11 AM and again the temple open at 4.30 PM in the afternoon and closes at 9 PM in the night. There are many
devotees come to this famous temple of Kolkata on Janmashtami which is the birth date of Lord Krishna. The construction work of this temple was started in the year 1970 and the temple was completed in the year 1996. This temple took about 26 year for completion. This temple was inaugurated on 21st February in the year 1996 which was on Wednesday by Dr. Karan Singh and the Prathistha of the temple was done by Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj.
This deities of this Birla temple of West Bengal are Lord Krishna and Radha. On The dome house of the temple the hindu goddess Durga is there which is the symbol of power with respect to Hindu Puran. On the right side of the dome of the temple Lord Shiva is there. This temple is spread on a area of 44 kathas of land. This temple was made of White marbles. This temple was made on the architecture Rajasthani style.
