Baharu High School is one of the oldest school in West Bengal which is situated at Jaynagar that is famous for 'Moya' under South 24 Parganas district. It was established in the year of 1856, that is, it is one year older than Calcutta University (1857). The school gave us a lots of great famous personalities like Singer Hemanta Mukherjee, Poet Sakti Chattyapadhay, Neel Ratan Sarkar etc. This school comprises of around 2000 students and 35 teachers. The co-ed section is available on in class XI and XII only and it is under West Bengal Board of Education.

Baharu High School is consists of Arts, Science and Commerce departments at present. Maximum number of students are present in Arts department which is around 200 or more. The teaching faculty is very good and they give a lots of efforts for the success of the students in an effective way.
