About P.C. Sorcar
P.C. Sorcar is known as the great Magician in the World. He was born on 23rd February in the year 1913 in Ashekpur which is situated in Tangail District of West Bengal. But now this district is known as Bangladesh. His original name is Protul Chandra Sorcar but popularly known as P.C. Sorcar. Family of P.C. Sorcar
The Father of P.C Sorcar is Bhagwan Chandra Sorcar and Mother is Kusum Kamini Sorcar. He started his schooling career in Shibnath High School of West Bengal. He started the first steps of Magics from the great Magician whose name was Ganapati Chakraborty and started his magic shows from the year 1930. In that time he shows his magic tricks in Kolkata and in Japan also. He is knows as the father of Indian Magic. His son P.C Sorcar Junior or Prodip Chandra Sorcar is also a Great Magician in this time and his daughter in law Jayasri Sorcar who is the wife of P.C Sorcar Junior is also a great magician and his Grand Daughter Miss Maneka is also a good magician in India. The wife of P.C sorcar is Basanti Devi who died in 26th December in the year 2009. He have three sons and 2 daughters. His sons are Mr. P.C Sorcar Junior, P.C Sorkar young and Manik Sorkar. From them Manik Sorkar is the eldest among them. He is a Electrical Engineer and also a very good laserist and Animator. He designed many instruments which are used in the Magic Shows. P.C Sorcar Junior, P.C Sorkar young are two great magicians in this time. The daughters of P.C Sorcar are Illa and Geeta.Awads of P.C. Sorcar
P.C. Sorcar was awarded with many prestigious and famous awards. He was awarde with the
prestigious Jadusamrat Award.nd also awarded with the very prestigious and famous Padma Shri Award by the President of India on 26th January in the year 1964. And also awarded with The Sphinx Award which is also known as the Oscar of Magic in the year 1954 from USA. He was also get The Royal Medallion Award from the German Magic Circle for his best performance in Magic Shows and also he was awarded with many other Awrds.
Mr. P.C Sorcar was died in Heart Attack on 6th January 1971 when he was performing a magic show in Ashaikawa of Japan. He was just 58 years of old when he died but till now peoples remember him as also respect him. On 23rd February in the year 2010 the Indian Post issued a postal stamp of Rs.5 of P.C. Sorcar to honour the great Magician in the World.
