Late Sri Khirod Chandra Pothal, one of the greatest poet and writer of Children's Literature. By his good contributions he was able to strengthen the Odia literature. He wrote many books for children in his life time.Life History of The great Poet Late Khirod Chandra Pothal:
The great Poet Late Khirod Chandra Pothal was born on June 30, 1939 at Gopapur village in Nischintakoili block in Odisha. It was his unfortunate, his mother Late Janha Dei died when he was only two months. Again at the age of four years he lost his father Late Jadumani Pothal. In childhood stage only he lost his father and mother and grew himself without their love and care. Every stage of his life he faced new sufferings, but sufferings never able to stop him. As the time passed, he developed himself as a good poet from his early young age only. He contributed many stories, books, poems and articles which were recognized as his great contributions to the Odia literature. The greate poet died on January 15, 2012. He wrote the lyrics of the famous Odia Bhajan "Kotha Bhoga Khiya, Mo Chaka Akhia Utha he Pahuda Bhangi", which was dedicated to the God Jagannath, the God of the whole universe. This was not only the single song, but also he wrote lyrics of many Odia Bhajan. He wrote many books and poems, which were more helpful to strengthen the Odia literature. He became one of the successful music composer and singer of 'Akash Vani' in 1970. He was awarded with 'the Sahitya Akademi Award' by Odisha Sahitya Academy in 1984. In the same year he was awarded "Ramakrushna Nanda Smruti Sanman" by Uttkala Sahitya Samaj. Not only these, he was also honoured with the State Sahitya Akademi Award in 1986 for his book 'Mana Hure Mora Hebakku Meena'. He was also honoured with State Education Award for his book 'Gaon Maati Mora Hasere', also awarded with Meenabazar Award and Pandit Upendra Tripathy Award and. He also received Sate Children's Literature Association Award for his book 'Sabas Nani'. Conclusion:
